This is the one thing that can make or break you as an artist you have to build your image you can have the greatest singing voice in the world but if you don't have the confidence to overshadow your bad pipes are you worth a major labels time ? People are mad about Iggy but they marketing the hell out of her saturated the market with her music have you conquered your local market are you featuring with other artists ? Are you shisty ? the reason we say this is because their are a lot of artists living in fantasy land acting as if they got this big old following and they don't Ego is great but if you don't have any fans the record company will find someone with fans and sales that you don't have and thats a wrap.The business is 90% business and 10% talent know your business consistently making music for the goal of building your catalogue and video archive should be important don't rush it create a practice space for the video 6 months in advance and do more than one type of video caricature videos, short videos on another story are cool too open your mind and think about it this way instead of pretending to be bigger than you are create quality music and videos to brand your image in peoples minds...
2.No Goals ?
WTF... Sorry but let's be honest there are too many musicians who act like they are in the 1970's they will try anything looking for the magic button mad when someone tells them to create a website to sit down and make a plan writing a business plan is important since the last post we showed you how to create your own distribution company No excuses should be left around for any who read, heard that post if you haven't you still can now. You make music and give it away ?? Why are you doing this anyway ? A lot of musician' s don't know why ? The reason Lil Wayne can and make money is because he is registered with Sound scan and he gets royalties for shares and downloads and radio airplay, Do you think Lil Wayne just makes music to give it away ?
Hell No ! Make 3,6 and 9 month goals this doesn't mean post your own links invest into a service that will build buzz on your name seek out interviews hold a contest. Perform more these seem like nothing but practicing your craft in public can lead to an opportunity.
