"What is Love "
First scene has Terrance Howard in the studio with an artist who is a beautiful singer
singing a song recording live she sings so beautiful and she has this presence vocally that
melts your heart. Terrance Howard's character wants so much more from here he tells her he wants her to sing like this is the last song she will sing.. Like she is going to die. She starts again and kills it he has tears coming to his eyes as he watches his own memories at the hospital room doctor checking xrays .. This is just the first 10 minutes of the first episode.
The show is magnetic and the cast all have undeniable chemistry there is a diverse cast a great story line that any writer would die to be apart of .The actors where made for this show. " Cookie " Teraji Henson character begins by getting caught selling drugs and goes away for 17 years ! Cookie is sassy beautiful smart woman who built Empire from the drug money they used to finance the record label. Cookie's character is sassy sexy and strong, she comes back on a mission and we believe she will accomplish it Jamal her son is very talented his father Terrance Howard's character Lucius Lyon does not connect with his son because he is homosexual, everyone else understands his choice and respect and treat him like a regular human being.

The sad thing is he gets him a much younger girlfriend Annika Gibbons actress Grace Gealey and she knows her days are numbered..........
There seems to be a attraction between Mr. Lyons And Cookie the Ceo of Empire Records raised his children after Cookie went to jail he continued to rap and created his own Record Label with the help of bumpy Cookies cousin who helps raise the boys with Lucius, episodes are so good as the last so you wont need to worry about being bored. The talent is a breathe of fresh air, we love to see shows like this cause it just proves we were right about the main stream talent is great too but just think of the opportunities for artists we never knew of before this show Jamal is a talented performer we are waiting for the whole season to finish then we will buy the cd. The show is based on Hip Hop but it has something anyone can connect with , the new woman in his life Anika comes from an affluent family she is smart sexy and Lucius new girl so this infuriates cookie because she just got out of jail 17 years !
